Dr. Lan Joo
Dr. Lan Joo is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Courage, Hope, Care Institute Inc. The institute aims to conduct educational research and provide STEAM education to underprivileged children in the United States and worldwide through online and offline programs. Dr. Joo is responsible for developing the organization's strategies, designing C.H.C. Institute programs, building partnerships, and overseeing the programs' operations.

She received a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Wisconsin and an M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University. While studying at the Elliott School, G.W.U., she worked as an intern at Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. Additionally, Dr. Joo received an M.A. in International Education and an Ed. D. in Educational Administration from G.W.U. Her current research focuses on educational and social equality and the linkage between education and the labor market.

Before founding the organization, Dr. Joo worked in the human development division at the World Bank for eighteen years, publishing numerous academic research and World Bank working papers on education, particularly the inequality of education and the skills gap in developing countries. Additionally, she spent five years working in one of D.C.'s public schools and encountered significant educational and social disparities.
All her previous studies and professional experiences contributed to the foundation of this organization, leading to her dedicated work with children from low-income families in the U.S.A. and developing countries.
